To the 117th United States Congress:
Please create a Bill for the Dignity of Human Rights to be inherent in ‘Persons’ in Amendment 4 of the Bill of Rights.
The Bill of Rights Amendment 4, Persons minimally is about one’s health , safety and welfare. Abortion should be protected as a qualified medical practice
On May 4, 2022, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas said “that the Constitution does not protect a right to an abortion”.
When Judge Thomas asked to show where Abortion is protected in the Constitution, in haste, the 5 Trumplican Supreme Court Judges suddenly chomping at the bit to roll back the peoples human rights starting with Abortion. So what would be next, Voting ?
If Human Rights, like the right to an abortion is to mean anything, let it first be found as “Persons” in Amendment 4 when it comes to our health, safety and welfare. Thomas can find it promptly.
The scope and focus of “the Dignity of Human rights” is/are, where in fact you can demonstrate Amendment 4, ‘Persons’ as its placeholder. That is, when considering there is no other place in the Constitution that does address you as a ‘person’ and that’s where the Dignity part starts.
In other words, your rights are untouchable by Federal and State Law. Your rights cannot be taken away.
The Yesterday’s Federalist did an excellent job on the Constitution. The Bill of Rights, thanks to Madison and friends finally got included.
But still, back then , the Bill of Rights was not warmly received by all. One could be impressed that ‘Persons’ was not left out, but not to imposing in definition as to turn off the Senate back then!
But history has shown that the individual, when based on race , color, or creed is still an issue. “Persons” is where we start when wanting to recognize our people as actual human beings when we talk about diversity, equity and inclusion.
You might agree that our model of a Democratically Elected Republic must move forward and not backward. And that in deferring Abortion to state law, is the first attempt at moving backward.
To move forward, “Persons” is yet to be truly defined for its scope and focus in Amendment 4, but at a minimum refers to your health, safety and welfare no matter what state you live in.
When we attribute Amendment 4 ‘Persons’ as having to do with an actual person, like ‘You and Me’, as an example, then there can be the ‘Dignity’ of Human Rights.
Then Amendment 4 makes a lot more sense in how we can regard each other –
